The Galaxy Music Awards (GMA), powered by Galaxy360 Media, held its official press conference today at the Landmark Hotels, Port Harcourt, ahead of the much-anticipated 2nd Edition of the Galaxy Music Awards, scheduled for December 7th, 2019.

The conference, led by Mr. Stanley Azubuike, CEO of Galaxy360 Media, brought together members of the press, media stakeholders, and entertainment industry figures to unveil event plans, new initiatives, and the official theme for this year’s edition — “Rivers of Possibilities.”

Driving Creativity and Innovation in the South-South

Speaking during the conference, Mr. Azubuike reaffirmed GMA’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding the creative energy within Nigeria’s South-South and South-East regions.

As part of Galaxy360 Media’s expansion, two new projects were announced:

The Relaunch of the Galaxy360 Magazine, focused on entertainment and lifestyle journalism.
The Launch of GXtreme, an online music streaming platform designed to promote emerging and established Nigerian talents.

Key Event Highlights

This year’s edition introduces several exciting pre-event and post-event activities designed to engage the public and the entertainment community:

Galaxy Celebrity PlayStation 4 Championship – A month-long celebrity gaming challenge beginning in August 2019, featuring South-South influencers and celebrities.
Audience & Jury Nominations – From September 10th to October 2nd, the public, alongside radio houses, music bloggers, and DJs, will submit nominations (each contributing 25% of total influence).
Jury Team Collation & Nominee Presentation – October 11th, 2019, when the final list of nominees will be unveiled.
Voting Period – Begins October 21st and closes October 25th, 2019, via the GMA website and SMS.
Celebrity Clean-Up Rally – November 16th, 2019, a community service initiative led by entertainers.
Nominees’ Hangout – November 29th, 2019, an interactive event to celebrate all nominees ahead of the main awards.
Gala & Award Presentation Dinner – December 7th, 2019, at Aztec Arcum, Port Harcourt.
